Intel WiFi Driver Installer Deleted Graphics/Audio/ACPI Drivers – System Data Was Lost

Problem Description:
While installing the Intel WiFi and Bluetooth driver package (via the provided .exe installer), the system displayed a black screen. Shortly after, the system became unresponsive, and a live dump was generated (Bugcheck 0x1A8: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP).

Upon forced restart, I discovered that multiple core drivers had been completely removed from the system, including:

• NVIDIA/Intel graphics drivers

• Realtek audio driver

• Intel Smart Sound Technology driver

• ACPI power management driver

The only way to recover was to reset the BIOS settings and manually reinstall all affected drivers from scratch.

Root Cause Suspected:
This appears to be a known issue where the Intel driver installer (MSI package) mistakenly expands its cleanup scope during the "removing older drivers" phase, deleting driver registrations for unrelated devices (GPU, audio, chipset). The issue triggered immediately before the system prompted for a restart to complete the installation.

Request:
Please investigate the driver installation package's cleanup routine, specifically:

• What criteria determine which drivers are marked for removal during installation?

• Why does the installer target drivers outside the Intel wireless/Bluetooth category?

• Can this be reproduced in a test environment with Windows 11 (26100) and third-party security software present?

I am happy to provide the live dump file or any additional logs if needed. This issue has caused significant system disruption and risks user data loss.

These are all the logs and events I found. Just a moment ago, when I uninstalled the Bluetooth driver, my Nahimic audio settings were also removed.
