Intel connectivity performance suite cannot be run on your configuration

We recently purchased 45 new HP laptops.
After going through the Windows wizard, everything was fine.
As soon as the Windows update ran, a message suddenly appeared stating that the Intel Connectivity Performance Suite could not be run on this configuration.
I have already tried several things, but the message keeps coming back, which is very annoying for our users.
It concerns the HP ProBook 4 G1i model. This model contains a wireless Intel BE201NGW adapter.
Laptops shipped earlier have also been receiving this message for the past two weeks. I tried removing the software, but that was pointless.
I also run the Intel driver and software tool.
I also completely reinstalled the laptop from a USB stick, but the message keeps returning.
How do I get rid of this?

THX.

Hello Ralph_64,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities regarding the Intel Connectivity Performance Suite error message appearing on your HP ProBook 4 G1i laptops.

I understand you're experiencing the "Intel Connectivity Performance Suite cannot be run on your configuration" error across 45 new HP laptops with Intel BE201NGW wireless adapters. This issue typically occurs when the system lacks proper licensing for the Intel Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) or when the software isn't officially supported by the original equipment manufacturer.

The Intel Connectivity Performance Suite can only be installed on select Intel platforms that have been licensed by the manufacturer. Since you're using HP ProBook 4 G1i systems, I recommend:

  1. Check HP's official support website for your ProBook 4 G1i model to confirm if ICPS is listed as supported software. If ICPS isn't listed on HP's website, this indicates the software isn't officially licensed for your system.
  2. As this is an OEM system, HP should provide clarification on ICPS licensing and support. They can also provide system-specific solutions to prevent these error messages.

If you need to completely remove ICPS to eliminate the error messages:

1) Open Command Prompt as Administrator

2) Review the log file and remove ICPS drivers using:

  • pnputil /delete-driver oem#.inf /uninstall

3) Uninstall Intel Connectivity Performance Suite from Windows Settings > Apps

4) Restart your system(s).

The Intel BE201NGW adapter will function perfectly for wireless connectivity without ICPS. The suite provides additional optimization features but isn't required for basic wireless functionality.

For enterprise deployments like yours, I strongly recommend working directly with HP's business support team, as they can provide system-specific guidance and potentially prevent these messages from appearing through BIOS or system configuration updates.

Please let me know if you need any clarification on these steps or if you'd like assistance with any other wireless connectivity concerns.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hello Ralph_64,

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to follow up since I hadn't heard back in a few days, and I also wanted to make sure you have everything you need before I close this thread out.

Regarding the "cannot be run on your configuration" error you're seeing with Intel Connectivity Performance Suite on your new HP laptops with the Intel BE201NGW wireless adapters — this typically comes down to licensing. The Intel Connectivity Performance Suite is only available on select Intel platforms that have been officially licensed by the manufacturer, and after checking, it appears that ICPS isn't currently available for the variants of your system model.

So the best next step would be to reach out to HP's business support team directly, as they'll be able to confirm whether ICPS is compatible or certified for your specific configuration, and may also be able to address the error through a BIOS or system configuration update.

That said, if you'd like to remove ICPS entirely to stop the error messages from appearing, here are the steps to do that cleanly.

1) Open Command Prompt as Administrator

2) Review the log file and remove ICPS drivers using:

  • pnputil /delete-driver oem#.inf /uninstall

3) Uninstall Intel Connectivity Performance Suite from Windows Settings > Apps

4) Restart your system(s).

One thing worth keeping in mind is that your Intel BE201NGW adapters will continue to work perfectly fine for wireless connectivity without ICPS installed. The suite offers some additional optimization features, but it's not required for standard wireless functionality, so your users shouldn't notice any difference in day-to-day use.

Since I haven't heard back in a little while, I'll go ahead and close this thread for now. Should you need any further assistance in the future, feel free to submit a new inquiry and I'll be more than happy to help!

Wishing you all the best!

Warm regards,

JeanetteC.
