Hello EddieLeon,

As Gize2 mentioned, custom integrations may or may not work. We recommend to check with http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support if your PC allows replacing the http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-3165-brief.pdf Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 with an http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/dual-band-wireless-ac-8265-brief.pdf Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. As you can see in http://ark.intel.com/compare/94150,89450 this comparison, they have similar features.

Please keep in mind that Intel does not support, nor recommends custom integration of wireless adapters since this may lead to installation errors, connection issues, software error messages, and in some cases it may even be illegal.

Intel does not recommend end users install or upgrade the various Intel® Wireless Adapter. For more information, please check the following advisories:

nevermind, i checked the model of the ac 7260 and its the HMW type which means it will not fit with the 3165 ,

Btw, is there any good wifi cards that can replace the 3165 (if possible list it down)

For most OEM laptops (Lenovo / Dell / HP / etc.), there is a whitelist of WLAN adapters contained in the BIOS. You'll only be able to add adapters christened by the manufacturer.

However, I see that the Y520 also ships with the Intel 8265 card with the following spec:

8265.NGWMG.NV

AA# : J29844-001

MM# : 949399

So if you find that particular card, you may be in luck. There are absolutely no guarantees, though.
