Solved: Killer Performance Driver Suite UWD Error 1920 - Page 2

Good day,

Intel Driver and Support Assistant recommended the software be updated but I keep running into error 1920:

"Error 1920. Service Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel(R) XTU) (XtuService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Now. I've troubleshooted in a number of ways:

1. I've retried,

2. Downloaded the installer and tried to install directly from the download

3. Uninstalled the Killer Drivers

4. Installed XTU

5. Verified that XtuService is running

6. Installed from downloaded installer

7. Installed from Driver and Support Assistant

Note: The exact name of the service on my PC is 'XTUOCDriverService'.

It's not a critical update so it's not urgent, but it'll bug me that the app has a red dot that I can't do anything with.

I'm also not uploading the log since it might have information I don't want to just upload for everyone to see.

I do not know if this actually worked or not. Intel XTU was already uninstalled.

I had to uninstall "Killer Performance Driver Suite UWD" because it was the only option at the time. And then the update notification went away. I reinstalled the Suite but when it paused here:

I manually stopped the service in the Windows Services dialog and it continued to install. I restarted my PC, and now there is no update notification, but the version doesn't match:

I am marking this as the solution, but I do not know if this resolved anything.

I have marked this issue as "solved" only in the sense that Inteld Driver and Support Assistant is no longer telling me to update this application, and that I found a way around the error.

I do not need clarification, but it seems like none of the limited solutions you offered worked either.
