Killer Software Removal Incomplete

I have removed Intel's Killer software from a Dell XPS8950 (Intel Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (210NGW)).

The software is mostly gone, but a pop-up persists on startup (see attached screen grab).

"Get an app to open this 'killernetworkmanagerlauncher' link.  Your PC doesn't have an app that can open this link.  Try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft Store".

I can't find this launcher in startup apps, services, or file search or any other place.

Any help gratefully received.

Hello KenOhrn,

Please proceed with the following steps:

- Open the Windows Scheduler Task

- Remove the Killer Startup Task

  • Open the Task Scheduler using tasksched.msc command.
  •  Next, click on “Task Scheduler Library” and locate Microsoft > Killer/Intel >”Killer Startup Task”. It can also be named as the Killer Network Task.
  • Right-click the Task and choose Disable Task.
  • Restart the computer.

Remove the Killer Startup Task

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards

Hello KenOhrn,

To better understand the situation and provide an accurate solution, please share the following information:

  1. The Killer Software you removed is typically installed alongside the Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x driver. Could you explain why you decided to remove it (e.g., not using the app, etc.)?
  2. Can you confirm that your wireless connectivity is functioning without any issues?

Additionally, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your system configuration so I can thoroughly review it and offer recommendations for a fix. You can do this by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. Once downloaded, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box for Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: After scanning is complete, click Next.
  • Click Save. *Please attach the SSU log file in your reply.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards

Hi:

I deleted the Killer Software because I was not using it.  The Wi-Fi adapter continues to function normally.

This issue with a pop-up precedes installation of Tunnel Bear VPN.

I have attached the SSU log.
