Hello INTEL community!
I have a lenovo legion 5 laptop running windows 11,with an intel wifi 6 AX 201 (for 2 yrs no issues), lately for couple of months now, whenever i turn the wifi on, it works fine, but it gets disconnected after around a minute, after i manually reconnect, it usually stays connected and doesn't get turned off again. (sometimes does tho), at first i thought it's a software problem so i did all the usual trouble shooting steps (clean instalation of wifi drivers from both Intel and lenovo websites, etc) nothing worked.
i have another hard drive with windows 10 on it, and today i boot into that one and same thing happens there as well, does anyone know what's happening? (it should be a hardware problem at this point)
Also same thing happens with other wifi routers (it's not the router's problem)
PS the picture is a guide i found on YouTube, is this a legit solution ?

To resolve the wireless connection issues, you can follow these links:
- https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/solutions/ht502846-frequent-drops-or-intermittent-wireless-connection-windows-7-8-10
For the wireless driver, you have the option to download it from either the intel website or the lenovo website. However, the drivers from the intel website are generic. Hence, it is advisable to download the driver from lenovo first, as it is tailored for your computer.
You can find the links to download the drivers here:
- https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en
Regarding the screenshot you provided, I cannot validate if that’s a valid troubleshooting.

Thanks for the respond, I did the steps of in the first link that you provided, problem still occurs, it happens to the same way in another windows installation, this has to be a hardware issue, will reseating the wifi card be helpful? or i should just get a new wifi card and stop wasting my time?

This may be a hardware issue, as the problem persists even after changing networks and reinstalling windows. You can attempt to reinsert the wireless card and see if it helps. However, if the problem remains, it may indicate a hardware issue. You can also reach out to lenovo support for further assistance to check if you can replace the wireless card only. I think, I have given you the direct link where you can download the driver/firmware for your wifi. They are the same thing. You can choose the older or newer driver/firmware from that link. Here is the direct link of the generic driver again:

I'm sorry, i'm not familiar with this forum, but how did this got accepted as the solution automatically??? cause i never did that. is my account compromised or anything?? the problem still remains, i appreciate the answer, but in my post i clearly mentioned that I'm on the newest driver, and i didn't ask for a driver, I was asking about if there was a firmware, drivers and firmwares are 2 different things, this is clearly a hardware problem, cause the problem doesn't go away in another windows installation and other driver versions.
THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION!

Calm down. I am not seeing any recorded solution here. Only the OP - you, in this case - can select that.
As @Senkuchan has correctly explained, all firmware updates are delivered as part of the driver update packages.
In your case, I suggest that, if you are seeing issues with the latest package, you should try downgrading to previous releases and see if you can determine which release stopped it from working properly. This is crucial information for Intel to determine the cause of the problem.
As well, it always helps the diagnosis to have more information about your hardware and software environment. To this end, please download and run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html). When you start the utility, select Everything and then click on Scan. Once it completes the scan process, click on Next and then Save. Pick a name for the text file to create and click on Save to create it. You can then close the app. Finally, open a response post here and then, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog (below the edit box for the body of your response post), upload and attach this text file to the response post

Ok, it was automatically selected as a solution and i removed it, but that doesn't matter right now.
I'm currently away from my laptop, yesterday i opened up my laptop and reseated the wifi card and cmos battery, played around with some network settings , problem still remains, it's so weird that everything works great after the second reconnecting, no drops or anything, it just disconnects after being turned on initially (happens on a fresh windows installation too, i think tomorrow i'll try Linux as well, after testing with Intel support utility)

If you are still experiencing the issue on linux, it might indicate a potential hardware problem.
