Subject: Memory Leak in Non-Paged Pool and High CPU Interrupt Load on Killer AX1650i (Driver version: [твоя старая версия])
Message:
"Hello,
I am reporting a critical memory leak in the Non-paged pool associated with the Killer Network Framework / Service on an Acer Nitro AN515-57 (Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i).
Steps to reproduce:
Accessing content-heavy websites (e.g., font repositories or high-request web pages) causes the Non-paged pool to swell up to 1.6 GB+ rapidly.
Observed behavior:
  1. Kernel Memory Leak: The Non-paged pool does not release memory even after closing the browser.
  2. CPU Overclocking/High Frequency: The CPU frequency locks at 4.0 GHz+ with only 2-3% total load, indicating a massive volume of DPC/ISR (Interrupt Service Routines) triggered by the network filter driver.
  3. NDU Conflict: The issue persists with Windows NDU enabled but is exacerbated by the Killer prioritization engine.
Resolution:
The issue was only resolved by a complete wipe of the Killer Software Suite (using pnputil /delete-driver) and force-installing the Intel AX201 generic driver (v. 22.40.0.7). After switching to the clean Intel driver, the Non-paged pool stabilized at 300-400 MB and the CPU frequency returned to normal.
Please investigate the WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) callouts in your driver, as they seem to fail at deallocating pool tags under high request volume."

Hi Vladimir792,

Thank you for reaching out.

I understand that you're experiencing a memory leak issue with your Killer AX1650i on the Acer Nitro AN515-57, including Non-paged pool memory leak and high CPU interrupt load.

For optimal performance, I'd like you to perform a clean installation of the OEM driver. If this was the problematic driver, then install the latest generic package version 40.26.403.2234 that will show as driver version 24.40.0.4.

Here's the step-by-step process:

Step 1: Download the Latest Driver

  • Download the latest installer for your version from the OEM or Intel Download Center package version 40.26.403.2234

Step 2: Check Your Windows Version

  • Click Start, type "winver" and press Enter
  • Match your version number to the correct download

Step 3: Clean Uninstall

  • Go to Windows search bar and type "Apps & features"
  • Find Intel Killer Performance Suite from the list
  • Click and select uninstall
  • Restart your machine (Start > Power > Restart)

Step 4: Clean Temporary Files

  • Click Start, type "%temp%" and press Enter
  • Delete all files in the temp folder (skip any that can't be deleted)
  • Close the temp folder

Step 5: Device Manager Cleanup

  • Go to Device Manager
  • Locate the Intel Killer AX1650i
  • Uninstall the driver
  • Refresh the changes
  • Repeat the process until uninstall it's greyed out

Step 6: Install Latest Driver

  • Run the downloaded installer
  • Select "Complete" when prompted
  • Follow the remaining prompts
  • Download the Killer Performance Suite UI from Microsoft Store if prompted
  • Restart if requested

Step 7: Test and Monitor Check if the Non-paged pool memory leak and CPU frequency issues are still resolved.

You can check this link for detailed information: How to Perform a Clean Installation to Solve Most Intel® Killer™...

To better assist you with investigating the WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) callouts, I need some additional information:

  • Was this working before? Any recent changes before it occurred?
  • What was the exact problematic driver version you were using before switching to the Intel generic driver?
  • How long does it typically take for the Non-paged pool to reach 1.6GB+ when accessing content-heavy websites?
  • Do you have any specific websites or applications that consistently trigger this behavior?

This information will help me determine the cause and provide appropriate troubleshooting steps.

We're looking forward to your response.

Best regards
