The network controller name my linux system returns is 'Intel Corporation Cannon Point-LP CNVi'. I cannot find any information on its existence on the intel website. Why is that?

I am asking because the linux driver is not handling the device correctly and in order to do something I need more infos.

Because it is an obscure code name.

"Cannon Point" are code names for chipsets ( Z370, H310, B360, H370, Q370, Z390 ) that are part of the 300 series chipsets.

You can find those chipsets at the bottom of this page:

For your Linux driver, contact the linux community.
