Wi-Fi Intel 5300 Advanced Config on Linux

Hello, I'm trying to configure Wi-fi Intel 5300 and 4965 on Linux. I know iwconfig tool. But I want to configure the wide channel. For example, I want that my Intel 5300 be adhoc mode and working on 40Mhz channel. How is possible to change this parameters, because with iwconfig tool is not possible
