Wi-fi networks not displaying

Hi, I have a Core i5 10th Gen desktop that no longer displays any wi-fi network connections, yet all other devices in the household is able to connect. I have tried many troubleshooting options found on the internet, turned off the wi-fi source, turned off the desktop but nothing will fix it. There is no display in the device manager but can be found after selecting show hidden devices. Tried to update driver and nothing happens. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hello Lesleyw,

Thank you for your post in the Intel Communities.

To better understand the issue and provide an effective recommendation, please share the following key information:

  1. When was the last time your wireless adapter successfully detected and connected to a network?
  2. Were there any changes made before the issue began, such as Windows updates, driver updates, or settings modifications?
  3. Please take a screenshot of the Device Manager. Show hidden devices, and if the wireless adapter appears, right-click and select Properties. In the Properties window, capture a screenshot of the "status." Then, click on the Driver tab and take a screenshot of the driver properties.
  4. You mentioned having a desktop PC. Are you currently able to connect to the internet using a wired connection?

If you can, please share your system configuration so I can thoroughly check and provide an accurate solution. You can do this by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. Once downloaded, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box for Everything and click Scan.
  • Review: When scanning is complete, click Next.
  • Click Save and attach the SSU log file in your reply.

If you cannot connect to the internet using a wired connection, please search for "msinfo32" from the Windows start menu to open the "System Information" window. In the main window, click System Summary and look for the details on the right pane. Ensure you screenshot the details showing the system manufacturer, system model, processor, and BIOS version/date. Expand "Components" (from the left pane) by clicking the "+" sign beside it, then "Network," and finally click to highlight "Adapter." Take a screenshot of the details on the right pane, from the name of the wireless adapter to the drivers.

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.
