When I’m in my network details it tells me my desktop has 100+ mbps of download but in my task manager no matter what I do it’s reading less than 10mbps I can’t stream or barely talk in discord as it constantly drops to 0 kbps but the network details is still reading 80+ mbps I’ve tried every tip and trick online to try and speed things up but it refuses to work. When downloading game’s periodically it’ll download at 150+mbps but it rarely reaches that speed. Ethernet didn’t fix the issue at my old place it was just a little more stable and at my new place I can’t even run one as it’s too far from the router and I have children. Please help, I’ve thought of maybe replacing my router but to get a more modern one that could possibly fix the issue is over 300$ and I’d need to replace the card but with this being a modern card I can’t warrant replacing it until I’ve exhausted all my options.

Hello Lord_atazoth,

Thank you for posting in the community. To help us investigate your concern further, could you please answer the following questions:

  1. Is this a laptop or desktop system?
  2. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you recently changed/installed a new adapter?
  3. What is the current driver version of your wireless adapter? You can check this in the Device Manager under Network Adapters.
  4. Are you far away from your router?
  5. Does the performance improve when you are close to your router?
  6. Have you tried using a different internet connection, and if so, does the issue persist?
  7. Have you tried rolling back driver for testing?

Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to your reply.
