Wireless 7260 and 7265 driver-only download?

Jump to solution

Is it possible to download the wireless card drivers without the ProSet software utility? I prefer to have Windows manage the wireless networking (Windows 7 Pro-64) but I do want to keep the latest drivers. Everything I find in the download center seems to install ProSet as well. Every time a user joins a wireless network they get the Intel Wireless Proset software asking them to add or sync wireless profiles and we'd rather just shut that off.

Thanks!

Hello DC500,

In thehttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Intel® Download Center, you can find a Drivers-only version for each release of the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7*.

For example, for the Version 17.14.0 (latest at this time) that supports both the 7260 and 7265 families, you can go to the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24652/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windo... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24652/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windo...

If you have Windows 7 64-bit, the you should use the DRIVERS ONLY file: Wireless_17.14.0_Ds64.exe

Please review the Detailed Description of the download for more information.

That's it, thanks. I missed the Drivers-Only description below. Too bad that info isn't right at the top of the page with the big file download links!
