no killer adapter connected

I received a notification that an update was available for my Wireless Bluetooth Driver.  I installed the update, and then checked my Intel Killer Performance. It showed a warning: "No killer adapter connected." This was the second time, in a couple of weeks, that I attempted to install the update, with the same result both times. I could not find a solution posted online. Not knowing what to do, I restored my computer to an earlier time using a restore point I created. The warning went away. There may be a problem with the update. Users, be warned.

Hello NCC,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to better understand and diagnose the issue further, let me ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help me isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

  1. What is the model of your Killer device?
  2. Where can you see this error?
  3. Can you share a screenshot of the error?
  4. What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
  5. What is the brand and model of your system?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hello, Michael,

What is the model of your Killer device?
Killer E3100G 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Where can you see this error?
The error showed up when I opened the Intel Killer Performance Suite.

Can you share a screenshot of the error?
No. I did not take a screenshot of the error.
After I used System Restore, "Killer Status" now shows "Fully Optimized. No action is needed."

What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
It's difficult to remember. After installing the update the first time and encountering the error, I believe I reinstalled the Killer Performance Suite, which didn't resolve the issue. So I did a System Restore. I waited a while and reinstalled the update, but the error occurred again. Again, I did System Restore.

What is the brand and model of your system?
Dell XPS 8950

I have attached a screenshot.

Thank you.

Hello NCC,

Thank you for the update.

Let me clarify, after "system restore", how is your system now? Are you still getting the same error message?
