Tool for boundary scan around Altera FPGA

Hi,

I was wondering if there is some affordable software to check the connectivity of a soldered Cyclone or Stratix FPGA, using only JTAG (via USB-Blaster or similar). I've been using a simple NIOS running from onchip RAM with PIO mapped to the interesting pins to do such tests, but it would be convenient if a software for this specific task already existed. Something with very quick setup - start software, select device type, and then control/observe pin states on a graphical map - that would be perfect... The NIOS needs at least a working clock signal...

Wow. As I finished posting a message about JTAG, an email came in notifying me of this post. Although it was on a different topic, I mentioned www.universalscan.com, which I think could help in your case:

Look at Scanseer www.scanseer.com (http://www.scanseer.com). It's very nice software for boundary scan.
