I've recently installed 9.1 on CentOS 5.2. I added my login ID to the vtune group and still get the permission error for the global_data directory. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Nevermind, I had to reboot the OS in order for it to work.

you can try "export VTUNE_GLOBAL_DIR=/tmp" for example, assume that you have write-permission to that directory.
