Drill down to source not available - Sampling

=====================================
- Windows XP Performance Analyzer Version 8.0 Build:21288
- Linux RDC
- Linux gcc compiler with -g option specified
- Executable size is around 250 Megabytes

=====================================

Currently when we perform sampling and are able to get to function level information and then double click on a function to take us to the source, we always run into one of the below two issues.

1 - Sometime we get the following error: "Line number information is not available ...". Note in this scenario we do see function name, etc so the -g option on gcc is working succesfully.

2 - Once in a while it doesn't print the line number information error and it takes you to the dialog box in which your are prompt to select the source file. After navigating to the path of the source file and selecting it, the Performance Analyzer seems to start processing but return with a "Fatal Error" message.

Thanks ahead of time for looking at this issue.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi tcprince,

Yes I did file the issue with my premier.intel.com account. I also posted it on the forum to see if anyone had any ideas or would know what was going on.

Thanks,

Kevin
