Hi,
I'm using C++ in a .NET environment.
I do the following things:
1. Click on "Create new activity" button.
2. In that, I select "Sampling Wizard"
3. Then, I select "Win32" option.
4. I check the check box with "Modify default
configuration..."
5. I click on "Finish" and I get a "Advance activity
configuration" dialog box.
6. I click on "Configure..." button.
7. I get a "Configure sampling" dialog box.
8. In the "General" tab, there are two radion buttons under
"sampling mechanism"
9. The "Time-based sampling" is enabled, where as the
"Event-based sampling" is disabled. (Please take a look at the attached image)
Why is it happening like this?
How do I solve this?
I need event based sampling, since I need tuning assistance. If I do a TBS, then when I select "TUNING ASSISTANCE", I get a "Unsupported processor" error message. What do I have to do for this?
Is the tuning assistant available only on EBS?
Thanks in advance.

So, Vtune thinks you are running on an AMD processor, but you think otherwise? The experts may need to know your Vtune build number(Help>about) and the processor type as reported by Windows.
