To obtain the VTune for Linux beta software you must join the beta test program which is online, free of charge, and requires about 5 minutes of slow-typist data entry time (name, email, etc.).
Once you have completed registration, you will be sent an email that confirms your successful registration. The email includes directions on where to download the beta software as well as a needed attachment, the beta license key. The beta license key (a small file with a .lic filename extension) is needed to install, run, and upgrade the beta software, and it's set to expire on February 28, 2003, so the beta software stops working after that point.
The beta test program for the VTune for Linux command line software started Friday November 15, 2002. You can do the online registration and download at this URL:
http://www.intel.com/software/products/vtune/beta/vt_pa_linux_beta_external.htm
If you have any difficulties accessing that site, or navigating its instructions, send an email to vtune.sales@intel.com with the subject "VTune for Linux Beta."
Thanks!
