Sampling with Remote Machine and problems with the exrta files

This should be noticed!!!

If you sample using a remote Windows machine and then want
to sample locally, the next button in the cofig wizard may not
be active. If so just remove all the "extra files" which were created
in the same folder during remote sampling.

I think Intel should mention this in the documents :)

Thanks, Bigilash. I'm not sure exactly what you mean, though. Can you describe the problem more completely?

Hi DaveA,

Sorry for being not very clear, actually I have been trying to
optimize a code which is to be run on a Linux Machine. I decided to
do remote sampling from a Windows machine using VTune. When I tried
to sample again from the same linux machine some of the buttons(next)
did not work. ie. you can't proceed after a stage. When I removed all
the extra files which were created bye the Windows session (which were
there in the same folder as that of the executable),"everything started
working normally"

I thought its better to post this, so that no one will face this again :)

Cheers,
Bijilash

So, let me see if I understand...
You collected sampling data on a Linux* system from a Windows* system via the remote data collector. Then, you went to the Linux system and attempted to run the 3.0 product there and could not create a sampling activity with the wizard. Is that correct?

At what point is the "Next" disabled? Is "Finish" enabled? Are you specifying an app to launch or checking the box for no app to launch?
