To view IA64 vtune results on IA32 computer

I got the sampling data on Itanium2 machine.Because I have little
time to use Itanium2 machine, I want to view the result on IA32
machine.
When I copy the result project directory of IA64 to IA32 machine
and open vpj file on IA32 machine,Vtune says
'An unhandled exception occurred while processing the command'.
After that, I can open Tuning Browser and view the result.
But Vtune freeze when I try to sample over time.
Then I have 2 questions.
Questions1:
Is it possible to view vtune results on a different architecture machine?
Questions2:
Is it possible to export all results to cvs format files?
Environment
IA64 target machine
- OS : WIndows2003 DC
- CPU : Itanium2 1.6GHz/9MCache
- Memory:256GB
- Vtune :v7.2
IA32 machine
- OS : WIndowsXP Professional Edition SP2
- CPU : Celeron 1.3GHz
- Memory : 512MB
- Vtune :v7.2

I could view it with
Pentium 4 3.2GHz
Memory:2GB
OS:WIndows XP Professional
Computer.
Question 1 is ok.
Celeron 1.4GHz/512MB RAM was just too low spec ....
About Question2
I want to get thedata of thePMU per sec.
For example, the change of cache missrate per sec.
The durations of sampling is about 10 min.
Sampling overtime can show the dataper 10min/80, but I want to the data per one sec.
Is it possible?

Hi himur:

The supported method of moving results from one system to another is to use the Pack and Go... menu item on the context menu of the project or activity in the Tuning Browser window. Pack and Go takes care of moving all the required data so that it can be viewed on another system. After copying the Pack and Go file (.vxp extension), use the File -> Unpack menu item to extract the contents on to the receiving system.

Hi himur:

Did you try zooming in the samples over time window? Use your mouse to click-n-drag a section of the samples over time and then press the magnifying icon to zoom.

You can also export the result to a comma-separated file using the File -> Export menu item while viewing the regular sampling results (i.e., not the samples over time display).

Thank you for response.

I tried pack and unpack.
Although I could unpack in Pentium4/2GBRAM machine ,
I failed to unpack in my computer(Celeron 512MB) with the message
'An unhandled exception occurred while processing the command'.

I want to make the tables
such as
Process nametime(second)CPU_CYCLESL3_MISSES.....
Process1 01000000020000
Process2 01200000040000
Process3 01300000020000
Process1 12000000022000
Process2 23200000043000
Process3 31300000021000

I tried zooming.But I have 2 problems.

- It takes a very long time to make such tables.,because the duration of
messure is about 10 minutes.
- I cant adjust the interval of the table to the interval I want(Ex. 1.0000000sec)

Do you have easy ways to do such things?

Hi DaveA

I could unpack the data in Pentium4/2GBRAM machine last week.
I tried unpack again with the same operations, but failed.

I don't know why. The reson may be an unpacked data(vxp file)
is too large.The unpack data has about 600MB size, and 4
activities.

Sorry about the delay. I was out last week.

You can pack only part of a project by right-clicking on an activity in the Tuning Browser window and selecting Pack and Go... This will only pack the selected activity and its results.

I don't know why it failed on the Celeron processor system. Does the VTune analyzer work, otherwise, on that system? That is, can you collect sampling or callgraph data on that system? It sounds like there might be a problem with the VTune analyzer installation on that system.

Regarding the exporting, it looks like when you export the Samples-Over-Time data, you get the time stamp in milliseconds. If you wanted to view the data in 1 sec intervals, you would have to aggregate the data yourself. You should be able to do it in an Excel* macro or something like that.
