VTune GUI unable to type on MacOS

I am using VTune 2021.3.0 on MacOS Big SurVersion 11.3.1. I am not able to type in any fields in VTune GUI, for example, to specify the name of a new project. Is there something in the setting that I should change? ( I have launched the VTune Profiler with the vtune-gui command line).

Hi  @Jenny688,

Discussed this case with developer. Please source vtune vars from

/opt/intel/oneapi/vtune_profiler/<version >/Intel\ oneAPI\ VTune\ Profiler\ <version>.app/Contents/vtune-vars.sh

before running the vtune-gui and let us know the result.

Thanks, Mariya

Hi  @Jenny688,

You may start VTune from the Launchpad.

If you would like to run VTune GUI from the command line, please try:

1. source /opt/intel/oneapi/setvars.sh

open "Intel oneAPI VTune Profiler 2021.3.0.app"

2. source /opt/intel/oneapi/setvars.sh

  vtune-gui

Thanks, Mariya

Hello Mariya,

Thanks for the help. I have tried both of your options, they don't work, unfortunately. I am not able to launch the application from the Lauchpad. The VTune app will close after 1 second. I am now opening Vtune-gui with the following commands:

. /opt/intel/oneapi/vtune_profiler/latest/env/vars.sh

sudo vtune-gui

In the app, whenever I type in somewhere, what I type appear in the terminal, not on VTune-gui.

Is there something else I can do?

Thank you!
