How do you calculate communication overhead using VTune for an OpenMP program?

Sorry, thought you said MPI. :(

OpenMP overhead will be displayed in the results.  Do you have some results?  Can you share a screenshot?

Also, have you looked in the product documentation.  There is a lot of info about using VTune Amplifier XE with OpenMP code.  See the menu in the upper right:
