I donwloaded an eval of 9.1. When i try to install it, the installer hangs after unpacking files.
I can see 3 processes hanging in task manager, doing nothing:
vtune90_007_win.exe, setup.exe, SetupCore.exe.
I inspected thread callstacks for those processes and they all either sleep or wait on NtRemoveIoCompletion or ZwWaitForSingleObject. The name of the thread for VTune main exe happens to be "__should not see me".
Btw i'm using vista and i had a previous install of vtune.
Any ideas what's going on?

I get a little confusion - you said an eval of 9.1, but package name is vtune90_007_win.exe. Currently formal supported version is v9.1 Update 2, package vtune91_002_win.exe.
1. Don't use other tools (like as emul, FlashGet, etc) to download the package.
2. Please check if downloaded file size is same as displayed in URL
3. Don't duplicate to run setup.exe.
4. Have to uninstall prior version first.
