My Intel Journey
I joined Intel (McAfee) over 9 years ago as a Documentation Lead for the Network Security Platform (NSP) product. Within a few months, I was asked to take on a manager role, and it’s been a roller coaster ride ever since. NSP was my first experience working on a hardware-based network security solution, and it has been a tremendous learning experience. I’ve learned all about the end-to-end lifecycle of a product and how to take into account the requirements and dependencies of everyone within cross-functional teams—be it testing, training, or manufacturing. Today my team owns product documentation for multiple products within the Network Security Group. Recently, I have also had the opportunity to take on a role in software program management for NSP, and I am enjoying every bit of it!
My Workplace
In the NSP team, our regular discussions revolve around how much we made in bookings quarter over quarter, where we ranked in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant, how we scored relative to our competitors, and so on. With such passion and drive exhibited by my colleagues day in day out, I am inspired and challenged to give my best shot every single day!
My Most Memorable Experiences
Having been around for a few years, I’ve made many wonderful memories. The most memorable one is definitely when we celebrated the “#1 in IPS” moment for NSP! There’s no greater joy than knowing that my work is relevant to the organization that I work for!
My Life Motto
Aim high! It’s important for me to do every task to the best of my ability. Also, when we want our products to be the best, it's crucial that we set our goals high enough that we achieve outstanding results!
Why Intel
According to Forbes magazine, “7 out of 10 new employer firms survive at least 2 years, half at least 5 years, a third at least 10 years, and a quarter stay in business 15 years or more.” A company like Intel that was founded in 1968 and is still going very strong deserves admiration. I also admire the way Intel brings simplicity and maturity into its day-to-day operations. Every guideline seems to be well thought through. As an employee, I appreciate the depth of work done towards providing us employees with an efficiency-based work environment.
