My Intel Journey

August 21, 2015 marked my 15th anniversary with Intel. I spent the first 10 years in Manufacturing, starting with transistor process integration in the U.S. Eventually, I ended up managing the lead mobile CPU and chipset Assembly and Test factory in China. Then, over the last five years, I worked on establishing the Internet of Things business unit in China. Now my job is to lead an agile team to grow the Internet of Things business in China and around the world—an exciting and challenging new journey to which I’ve dedicated my passion and energy.

My Workplace

I strive to foster an open, fair, and intellectually challenging workplace—to create an ideal environment where a group of talented and passionate professionals work in close collaboration. I feel fortunate to have learned from more than a dozen great leaders at Intel—and to have collaborated in a global environment with people of such diverse disciplines and experience. This background has helped me develop leadership traits that have allowed me to learn and accomplish in the concurrent and iterative process.

My Most Memorable Experiences

There have been many memorable occasions over the last 15 years, associated with product launches, solving complex and impactful technical problems, winning large business deals, and hitting very challenging business goals. Above all, the most memorable would still be how the Pudong Assembly and Test Factory employees stepped up and responded to a critical product ramp after we announced the consolidation of the Pudong site. That was a true reflection of the trust, respect, and bonds among this large group of employees.

Why Intel

I am a quantum physicist by training. Intel’s unparalleled success in “manipulating and orchestrating” trillions of atoms to perform transistor functions continues to play a significant role in convincing me Intel is one of the most influential and impactful companies on earth. Intel also gave me a broad range of experiences—from R&D to Manufacturing to Business—with challenging roles that allowed me to learn from and work with a variety of talents, and continue to grow and make meaningful contributions as a team player and a leader.

My Life Motto

I have a basic principle in life: treat people the way I want to be treated. This has helped me a great deal in connecting with people and maintaining peaceful balance throughout my work and life.
