This year, Altera will be present in the booth running several demonstrations leveraging Agilex™ 7 FPGAs.
Altera booth (in the Intel booth #1501)
Our first demo is a live demonstration of OTN over Packet (PLE) transmission based on Agilex™ 7 FPGA. A 100 Gbit/s OTN signal (OTU4) is decomposed into packets, sent over an IP network, and then reconstructed at the other end of the network. This allows packet-switched networks and standard Ethernet optical modules to service OTN connections. This demo was developed working with our partner Infinera.
Our second demo will display Altera’s recent development in Passive Optical Networks (PON) IP. This Agilex™ 7 based example design showcases Altera’s 50G Asymmetric Burst-mode PON reference design with 50G downstream and 25G upstream, supporting G.9804.3 electricals.
