Unveiling Innovations and New Leadership 

Mobile World Congress (MWC) stands as a cornerstone event in the communications industry, with businesses worldwide showcasing groundbreaking advancements and fostering key industry relationships. This year, Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is thrilled to announce its participation in a new operational realm, operating as a stand-alone entity within Intel's vast ecosystem. At the heart of our MWC 2024 presence is the introduction of Sandra Rivera as the new CEO of PSG. Under Sandra's visionary leadership, PSG is poised to navigate the programmable solutions market with renewed vigor and strategic focus. Her expertise and leadership are pivotal as we unveil major breakthroughs and engage with the industry at this influential event. 

Intel PSG Unveils Game-Changing Technologies Now Available at MWC 2024: 

  1. Intel® P4 Suite for FPGAs: Revolutionizing the networking landscape, the Intel P4 Suite is a high-level design tool that transforms how packet-processing intellectual property (IP) is generated and managed. It empowers users to leverage the flexibility of FPGAs with a software layer for runtime control, enabling unprecedented customization and efficiency in network hardware-software interaction. 
  2. Intel’s Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (mMIMO) Enablement Package: This comprehensive package provides everything needed to develop custom mMIMO radios using the Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs. It has a radio digital sub-system example design, including fundamental IP blocks, beamforming, IEEE 1588 support, Linux drivers, and diagnostic tools. Completing the package are hardware source files, such as schematic, PCB layout, and mechanical design files, for a 32T32R mMIMO white box, allowing for unparalleled flexibility and innovation in the mMIMO technology deployment.

3. Intel Precision Time Protocol Servo (Intel PTP Servo): Offering a bespoke solution for precise time synchronization, the Intel PTP Servo enhances 1588 timing configurations for optimal performance, flexibility, and metric analysis. Operating within the open-source Linux user space, it provides an advanced alternative to standard timing services tailored for modern networks' precise needs and unique feature sets. Showcasing Innovation: Live Demonstrations at MWC 

Intel PSG is not just about announcements; we’re about tangible innovation. This year, our booth will feature two live demonstrations that highlight the practical applications and benefits of our latest technologies: 

  • End-to-End Functional Cell Site: Focused on Intel’s mMIMO enablement package and leveraging the advanced Intel PTP Servo, this demonstration showcases a complete cell site setup. It features Intel SoC FPGAs and CPUs alongside customer-designed radios that highlight the capabilities and fast time to market of Intel’s 5G macro and mMIMO enablement packages. 
  • Mobile User Plane (MUP) SRv6 Demonstration: Utilizing the Intel P4 Suite for Intel FPGAs, this demo presents a cutting-edge network slicing strategy. It enables the creation of hardware acceleration for workloads such as DCSG, UPF, AGF, and more, showcasing the versatility of Intel’s SmartNICs and infrastructure processing units (IPUs) in enhancing network performance and efficiency.
