The spring season has been buzzing with activity here at the Altera Innovation Lab! From successful crowdfunding campaigns to exciting event preparations, we’ve been hard at work supporting innovation in the FPGA community.

Haasoscope Pro: A Crowdfunding Success

We’re thrilled to share that the Haasoscope Pro campaign wrapped up on April 10th with an impressive 195% of its funding goal met! This open-source oscilloscope is already evolving, even before shipping, now with support for ngscopeclient. That’s the beauty of open hardware: it just keeps getting better. If you missed the campaign, don’t worry, preorders are still open on the project page.

Meet the Atum A3 Nano

Another exciting launch comes from Terasic with the Atum A3 Nano, a compact and cost-effective development board for Altera’s Agilex™ 3 FPGA. This board is packed with features:

· Built-in USB Blaster™ III

· 64MB SDRAM, microSD card socket, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI output

· Expandability via 2x20 Terasic header and two PMOD connectors

It’s one of the most accessible ways to dive into Agilex FPGA development. The campaign is live now, so there’s still time to back it and reserve your board.

Join Us at Crowd Supply Teardown 2025

We’re proud to once again sponsor Crowd Supply’s Teardown event in Portland, Oregon, June 20–22. This annual celebration of open hardware is the perfect way to kick off summer, full of demos, workshops, and community spirit.

At our table, we’ll be showcasing how FPGAs can emulate legacy hardware using the Cyclone® V SoC FPGA-based DE10-Nano running MiSTerFPGA. Come by to relive classic DOS shareware games and check out hardware from our recent campaigns.

We’re also hosting a hands-on workshop where participants will receive a MAX10 development board and build their own programmer. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up early!

Can’t make It to Teardown? Stay connected!

If you can’t join us in Portland, no worries, you can still be part of the excitement by following along on the Altera Innovation Lab webpage. Make sure to subscribe so you never miss an update on our latest projects and events. Even better, if you’ve got a great idea, submit your own project! We’re always inspired by the innovative ways you bring our FPGAs to life.
