Intel vPro platform: Management modernized

The Intel vPro platform includes Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT), which allows IT managers to remotely power on PCs anytime, no matter where the device is. No matter if the device is in the office, on a home Wi-Fi network, or logged in through a cell network hotspot, IT can access the device, run diagnostics, and make updates. Intel AMT supports keyboard video mouse (KVM) control, so IT has full visibility and complete access to remote devices.

Going beyond DASH

Intel AMT is based on the Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware standard (DASH) , a web services‒based standard for secure out-of-band and remote management.

The Intel vPro platform goes beyond basic DASH capabilities with added functionality that ensures it is scalable, easy to deploy, and able to integrate with industry tools. This allows the Intel vPro platform to manage devices at the hardware level while adding support to IT professionals.

This cloud-based app lets IT wake, maintain, and reboot devices outside of the company’s firewall. It’s not limited to computers used by remote workers. IT can use the Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA) for digital signage, control systems, embedded devices—virtually any edge computing device built on the Intel vPro platform.

Intel Hardware Shield also minimizes the risk of malicious code injection by locking down system-critical resources to help prevent planted malware from compromising the OS. Hardware-to-software security reporting enables the operating system to enforce a more complete security policy—all with no additional IT infrastructure required.
