Advent of Multimodal AI Hackathon: A Recap of Innovation and Global Talent

The first Advent of Multimodal AI Hackathon was held virtually from December 11–13, 2024, and it brought together brilliant minds from across the globe to explore cutting-edge advancements in multimodal AI technologies.

Hosted by Intel® Liftoff for AI Startups in collaboration with Prediction Guard, Pixel ML, and The Mango Jelly, the event featured a mix of creative challenges, technical excellence, and community spirit.

The hackathon spanned three intense days of challenges, from creative image transformations, to chatbot-driven storytelling. Participants showcased their expertise in leveraging tools like Intel GPUs, Weaviate, and Prediction Guard LLM services, culminating in capstone projects that demonstrated their innovative approaches to multimodal AI.

Key offerings included access to Intel® Tiber™ AI Cloud, professional plans for business intelligence tools, and mentorship opportunities - all designed to foster innovation and creativity.

These standout performances earned them not only prizes but also recognition as pioneers in the evolving field of multimodal AI. Let’s take a closer look at their achievements and the rewards they received.

 

1st Place: Team Beseek

 

From Malaysia, the startup team Beseek, consisting of Hafiz Zainudin, Muz, and Iqmal Irsyad Mohammad Fuad, captivated judges with their groundbreaking project. Their rewards included:

  • $10,000 in Intel® Tiber™ AI Cloud credits.
  • One-month enterprise access to Prediction Guard for model library and LLM safeguards.
  • Three months of The Mango Jelly's professional plan for business intelligence and market research.
  • Six months of Pixel ML’s Gen AI Suite, including 1:1 consultations and workshops.

Additionally, Team Beseek earned a spot in the Intel® Liftoff global program for AI startups.

2nd Place: Team from IOE Thapathali Campus

 

The talented team from Nepal, including Yugratna Humagain, Jivan Acharya, Yogesh Sharyal, Bidha Acharya, and Aashish Shrestha, secured second place with their innovative entry. Their prizes included:

  • $5,000 in cloud credits.
  • Six months of Pixel ML’s Gen AI Suite.

3rd Place: VIT Bhopal Student Team

 

First-time hackathon participants from VIT Bhopal University, India - Barun Kumar Pattanaik, Arnav, Siddhartha, and Mahijith—demonstrated exceptional creativity. They received:

  • $2,500 in cloud credits.
  • Six months of Pixel ML’s Gen AI Suite.

Spot Prizes and Notable Mentions

 

In addition to the top winners, several teams received spot prizes for their exceptional efforts:

  • GLS4Africa (Côte d’Ivoire): Awarded $1,000 in cloud credits for their "Unstoppable Performance."
  • AIToo (Kazakhstan): One-month access to Prediction Guard’s enterprise platform for "Outstanding Performance."
  • Student Team from SRM University (India): Intel Geti credits for their visionary AI applications.
  • Marketing AI Excellence: Students from VIT Bhopal excelled with The Mango Jelly tools.
