Multimodal AI is changing the game, and what better way to push its limits than a hackathon packed with creative minds? The Advent of Multimodal AI Hackathon brought together innovators from across the AI ecosystem, and among them, Intel® Liftoff members made a strong impression. From AI-powered manga generation to content creation tools, these startups showcased the potential of multimodal AI in real-world applications.

Startup Team Adapta Studio: Automating Manga Generation

 

Intel® Liftoff Member, Adapta Studio received special recognition for their automatic manga strip generation service. Their submission featured a web-based application that seamlessly generates a manga story, including images, text bubbles, and summarized captions. Built using Flask and Pillow, the project demonstrated an impressive level of consistency in image generation.

Startup Team GLS Africa: End-to-End AI Content Generation

 

Another Intel® Liftoff Member GLS Africa delivered a polished and fully deployed application for AI-driven content creation. Their web-based solution leveraged LLAVA for text generation and SDXL for high-quality images, producing compelling social media content. Legal Pythia: Refined Manga Strip

 

Intel® Liftoff member Legal Pythia, represented by Jeremy Bormann, Otmane Cherradi, Irene Chatterjee, Aryan Rathore, Ayman Zahir, and Michael Panagopoulos, participated in the hackathon with a refined manga strip submission. Their project explored the use of image input capabilities to enhance storytelling consistency. While their third submission demonstrated strong storytelling and impressive image generation, some challenges remained in aligning the visuals with the narrative.

 Their efforts included hosting a live Gradio server and providing a notebook to showcase their work. With multiple submissions and a commitment to refining their concept, their work stood out as a well-crafted attempt at AI-generated storytelling.

Startup Team AIToo: Fine-Tuning Beyond the Scope

 

Intel® Liftoff member Zhuldyz-Zhan Sagimbayev, founder and machine learning engineer at CEREBRA AI, participated in the hackathon as part of Team AIToo. They went above and beyond by fine-tuning Flux, surpassing the challenge’s expectations. Their submission featured a visually captivating manga panel sequence set in a futuristic Neo-Tokyo, complete with a cybernetic shark detective named Ryu.
The team’s detailed art direction emphasized neon lighting, metallic tones, and dynamic compositions to bring their AI-generated world to life.
