Liver Disease occurs when it negatively affects the normal and healthy performance of the liver. There are several types of liver diseases caused due to numerous factors such as infections, misuse of alcohol, obesity, and inherited conditions. Early diagnosis and treatment for liver diseases will help heal the disease and prevent liver failure. Liver Disease Detection is the process of predicting whether patients have liver disease or not.

Arnab Das in his blog proposed a solution to Liver Disease Detection using Intel® Distribution of Modin*, Intel® Developer Cloud, and Intel® Extension for Scikit-learn*.

The blog explains the various steps involved in the project:

  1. Installation of required libraries.
  2. Data Collection & Preparation
  3. Model Training
  4. Model Testing

Learn more about Intel Extension for Scikit-learn and Intel Distribution of Modin!!!

Intel Extension for Scikit-learn: This Intel Extension seamlessly speeds up your scikit-learn applications for Intel architectures across single and multi-node configurations. Also, this extension package dynamically patches scikit-learn estimators while improving performance for your machine learning algorithms. By using Scikit-learn with this extension, the performance for training and inference can be improved up to 100x with the equivalent mathematical accuracy.

Intel Distribution of Modin: Modin is a drop-in replacement for the extensively used Python library, Pandas. Intel Distribution of Modin is a performant, parallel, and distributed dataframe system that accelerates Pandas while using a fully compatible API. This adds optimizations to further accelerate processing on Intel® hardware.
