Even with ample technology available, most who were forced into remote learning had to adopt a just “get it done” mentality. There was no time to implement best practices, research the best technology, or get the best hardware for students or staff. Students, parents, educators, and school districts did an amazing job given the situation and now we have time to reflect on how we will return to learn in the fall.
Many unknowns remain within education as the fall school year approaches, but there is one thing we can be sure of: hybrid or hyflex learning will come to be the norm. A typical classroom will have a combination of both in-person and remote teachers and students. Technology will step up to ensure a continuous and accessible learning environment for students and instructors.
In the second episode of the Return with Tech podcast, Jason Goecke and I are joined by esteemed AV professional and Professor of Communications at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, Gary Kayye. We sat down with Gary to explore how technology will support and make education better now and prepare us for the next mass remote learning event.
