I am looking for documentation to use GPU possibilities with a Core I5-4402E with an Intel® HD Graphics 4600.

I am trying to use GPU possibilities to compress YUY2 video flow in H.264, and I would like to if it is possible with the GPU of the motherboard I use (this mother board integrate CPU and GPU describe above and a intel QM87 Chipset)

We operate with a Linux 3.13.0-24-generic #47-Ubuntu.

Thanks for your help.

To access Intel GPU hardware for video encoding and decoding on Linux, you need to use our Intel® Media Server Studio 2015 product. It supports H.264 encode.

Hi Kisung,

Intel Media Server Studio 2015  for Linux supports the following hardware:

  • 5th Generation Intel Core™ Processors with Intel Iris™ Pro Graphics, Intel Iris Graphics or Intel HD Graphics 5000/6000+ Series.
  • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-128x v3 with Intel C226 Chipset:
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1284 v3
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1285 v3
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1285L v3
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1286 v3
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1286L v3
  • 4th Generation Intel Core™ Processors with Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics, Intel Iris Graphics or Intel HD Graphics 4200+ Series (chipset compatibility is usually not an issue for Core™ processors).

The Windows version requirements are similiar. You can review the release notes for each release to check here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-media-server-studio-support/documentation
