Refraction completely broken in Minecraft Bedrock Edition with the BetterRTX mod

When playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition with the BetterRTX mod you'll notice that translucent blocks appear completely black. These blocks are supposed to have refraction effects but apparenly it doesn't work correctly on Intel devices.

Enabling ray tracing is quite convoluted so I'll provide some reproduction steps

Reproduction Steps:
- Download BetterRTX using https://github.com/BetterRTX/BetterRTX-Installer (make sure to read the prerequisites)

Once you have it installed enabling ray tracing is quite convoluted

- Start Minecraft Bedrock Edition
- Go to the Marketplace tab
- Search for "rtx"
- Select one of the ray tracing maps from Nvidia
- I recommend the "Color Light and Shadow RTX" because this map has creative mode
- Press on the "free" button then click "download" and then "create this world"
- Once you're in the world go into settings>video scroll to the very bottom and toggle ray tracing

Once you're in the world open your inventory and search for a water bucket and glass blocks. Place them down and you'll see the issue

Hi djmrFunnyMan,

Thank you for posting in the communities!

I appreciate you gathering the steps and how to replicate the issue on our end.

But first, I would like to understand the cause and how did the issue start, could you please provide the needed details listed below:

  • What is the exact model of Intel Graphics Card you're using?
  • Does the issue only happen when using BetterRTX mod?
  • Have you already tried performing a clean installation of your GPU drivers?
  • Can you also share us the game settings that you're using while playing Minecraft Bedrock with BetterRTX mod? if you have a screenshot of the settings, that will be useful.

Kindly run this on your system so that I can also gauge the following peripherals and the driver versions that you have:

Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

Once finished downloading, open the tool, click on scan (leave the default items checked), click next, then save the system information to a .txt file. Please provide us the .txt file.

Best regards,

1. Sparkle B580. But the issue isn't tied to a specific model. Alchemist is also affected. See https://github.com/BetterRTX/BetterRTX-Installer/issues/128
2. Yes the issue only happens with BetterRTX
3. Yes
4. The issue happens regardless of the settings. And I am on the default settings anyway

I've attached the SSU log to the original post

Hi djmrFunnyMan,

Thanks for patiently waiting.

I just want to know if you're an end user or the developer of BetterRTX mod?
