Hello Team,
We have external "Serial Flash" interface over SPI with I226 Ethernet PHY on ARM based QCOM SOC. We are able to flash it using eepromaccesstool provided by Intel. Also able to set the unique MAC address.
For the Production it is not feasible to flash I226 using eepromaccesstool as it is taking too much of time(15-20 min) to flash it. We dont want to go with Preflashed Flash as our production volume is not too much. So Do we have any other interface available with I226 by which we can flash the External NVM Flash using any jig faster?
We are using an NVM Flash connected via SPI with an Intel I226 Ethernet PHY on an ARM-based Qualcomm SoC. Currently, we can flash the NVM and set a unique MAC address using Intel’s eepromaccesstool.
However, for production, this approach is not practical because flashing with eepromaccesstool takes around 15–20 minutes per unit, which is too slow. Pre-flashed NVM is also not an option due to our relatively low production volume.
Is there any alternative interface or method available for the I226 that would allow us to flash the external NVM faster using a jig or similar setup?
Thanks,
Prerak

Hello @Prerak,
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
As I understand, the only tool that is able to work in ARM is the EEPROM Access tool, unfortunately there is no other tool that I can suggest to your needs.
Best regards,

Thanks for your response.
Can you provide me "523490 "Intel® Ethernet NVM Programming Strategy for Manufacturing 01-May-2013" Document? I just wanted to look at the options before taking any decision.
Thanks,
Prerak
