Hi Intel team,

We are using WG82574IT Gigabit controller IC in our design. We have completed the project with hardware and software implementation.

Before we start the project we checked with the Intel team regarding the manufacturing availability .

We got the confirmation from Intel saying that Manufacturing availability will be till Q1' 2025. I have attached the mail reference from Intel.

But now when we asked again ,Intel replied that Manufacturing availability will be till Q1' 2018 only.

In the website it is mentioned as the expected discontinuance date is 2018 .Whether it is expected date (it may extend also ?) or the actual End of life ?

Hello Aadhil,

Thank you for contacting the Intel Embedded Community.

It is important to clarify you that the Q1' 2018 is an Expected Discontinuance Date, which is an estimate of when a product will begin the Product Discontinuance process. The Product Discontinuance Notification (PDN), published at the start of the discontinuance process, will include all End of Life (EOL) Key Milestone details. Some business units may communicate EOL timeline details before the PDN is published. Contact your Intel representative for information on EOL timelines and extended life options.

By the way, the availability of any Intel product depends on its demand on the market. Due to this fact, the period of 7 years mentioned at the attached document does not apply all time.

For more information and details, we suggest you to contact the Authorized dealer that better fit to your needs. The Authorized Distributors are listed at https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/resellers/where-to-buy/overview.html the Intel Global Distribution Network web site.

We hope that this information is useful to you.

Best Regards,

Carlos_A.
