In the schematic checklist for the I225/I226 (576704-Intel-Ethernet-Controller-I225-I226-Design-Checklist-rev2.6.7.xlsx), one of the checklist items indicates using the PCH's GPIO signal to control and gate the I225/I226 3.3V power rail and is marked as Mandatory.
Can you provide more information on this mandatory requirement? Is this required by some software driver for these Ethernet Controllers? In my application, the PCH is located on a COM Express Type 7 module that does not expose the PCH's GPIO signals to the COM Express Carrier board. The I226s will be located on the COM Express Carrier board. I'm trying to determine if that's problematic given the Mandatory status indicated in the checklist.

Hi CarlosAM_INTEL,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I am designing a board that has four Intel I226 (Intel KTI226IT S RKTX) devices on it. This design is in the design phase. Ampex will be purchasing the I226 parts through distribution, most likely from Arrow or Mouser. I contacted Arrow's support and they recommended that I post the question to Intel's support community.
My questions stems from information provided by Intel for designing in the I226; specifically the I225/I226 Schematic Checklist (576704-Intel-Ethernet-Controller-I225-I226-Design-Checklist-rev2.6.7.xlsx).
Sincerely,
Hal

Hi CarlosAM_Intel,
I've attached some information from my Intel account profile. This includes my business email address as well as the profile's access to Intel's Developer Zone Premier. It indicates that Ampex Data Systems Corp's status is Approved. Doesn't this indicate that I have an Intel Developer Zone Premier account?
Sincerely,
Hal
