Hi,
I have a special requirement against the received packets on the switching ASIC and would like to know the feasibility to support this on Tofino or Tofino2 at SOC level.
Given that the guard time period is 10 msec. The payload of the packets mentioned below are all the same.
1. Packet 1 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 0 msec. The packet is processed by the ASIC as usual.
2. Packet 2 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 1 msec. The packet is dropped.
3. Packet 3 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 10 msec. The packet is dropped.
4. Packet 4 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 12 msec. The packet is processed by the ASIC as usual.
5. Packet 5 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 17 msec. The packet is dropped.
6. Packet 6 is received on the switching ASIC from any port at timestamp 23 msec. The packet is processed by the ASIC as usual.
Is there any existing API of Intel P4 SDE available to do that without the intervention of CPU?
Or is it possible to use P4 lang on Tofino or Tofino2 to do that without the intervention of CPU?

Hello CharlieChenEC,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
For us to further check the issue, please provide the following details.
- What is the complete model of the Ethernet card that you are using?
- Are you designing board or a system using the Ethernet card?
- Can you provide more information about the implementation of the network card?
If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.
Best regards,

Hi Michael,
- What is the complete model of the Ethernet card that you are using?
We would like to know the feasibility to do the feature on the models listed below. All of them are Ethernet Switches.
Wedge100BF-32X (Tofino)
Wedge100BF-65X (Tofino)
AS9516-32D (Tofino2) - Are you designing board or a system using the Ethernet card?
No. We would like to develop the feature on the models mentioned above. - Can you provide more information about the implementation of the network card?
We would like to develop the feature on the Ethernet Switches with Tofino/Tofino2 switching ASICs.
Thanks and best regards,
Charlie Chen
