Intel processor power down after 5 Second.

Hello,

In one of our Intel Atom E3815 based board, PMC_SLP_S4# & PMC_SLP_S3# signals are going Low (may be CPU is getting reset) after 5 seconds, causing power supply turning-off......

After asserting PMC_PWRBTN# signal for 4 seconds, PMC_SLP_S4# & PMC_SLP_S3# are asserted and cpu turns-On (comes out of reset) .... but after 5 seconds, it again goes down....

To strike out impact of Firmware on this event, I erased PCU Flash .... but still same problem is occurring ....

This problem is not happening on other boards with same design ....

What could be the possible reason for such event ??

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

Could you please swap the processor related to this situation with a non-related to this condition, and let us know the results of this suggestion?

Hello, @SVasa1:

Thanks for your update.

In order to answer your last question, we suggest you contact the place of purchase of the faulty unit to apply the procedure stated in section 7.2.5, on pages 58 and 59 of the Intel Quality System Handbook that can be found at:
