Dear all,
I'm stack in a trouble, and it would be great if anyone knows how to solve this.
I'm using CAD-UL x86 compiler v8.3 on Solaris 8, and of course I have a license.
License server was installed on the other host, but it has been gotten rid of.
I activated the license server on my EWS, and found that I don't have the vendor daemon. From the memo of my colleague, /etc/opt/licenses/licenses_combine was modified as follows;
original: DAEMON cadul /usr/local/flexlm
modified: DAEMON cadul /etc/opt/licenses/cadul/cadul
It suggets there is a vendor daemon 'cadul' but I don't have it.
Is there any way to get it?
Thank you for your advice in advance.

Hello Gosstae:
Welcome to the Intel® Embedded Community.
I am afraid you maybe have a big problem. As you probably know, the CAD-UL toolchain is very old and discontinued years ago. Please check out the two threads below where you will find users with similar issues, and unfortunately we were unable to find a solution.
However, I will pass your question to some colleagues at Intel who are still familiar with the old CAD-UL and see if there is any possibility of helping you.
Here are those other threads:

Stay tuned,

Hello Felix,
thank you very much for your reply, and I really feel sorry to bother you with this old software, but it is a big problem for me.
And thank you for the links to related threads, too.
I wish one of your friends can find any solution.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello again, Gosstae:
We MAY be in some luck. My friends are able to find in the archive the complete installation package for CAD-UL on Solaris. Note that this is for Solaris 1 and 2 - dated in 1997. We have no idea if you can make it work with Solaris 8. I think you can appreciate that this is completely unsupported so you are "on your own" if you want to try it.
I can send you this package by email. Please confirm that it is OK for me to send it to the email address in your Community member profile. If you prefer to receive it at a different address, you can provide me with that by the private message function. (click on the "people" icon at the top of this page (next to "bookmarks") and send to Felix_M.
I hope this will help you.
