DPDK on Fedora 14 ?

Hi everyone,

Does DPDK support Fedora 14?

According the release note, the OS fedora 14 has NOT validated.

and we have check this, the DPDK has been running up.

However, we use packet generator (Smartbit) to test, and the result is fail.

so, any ideas?

is there any solutions? to be supported DPDK with Fedora 14?

Please check the know issues of the DPDK: http://dpdk.readthedocs.org/en/latest/rel_notes/known_issues.html 6. Known Issues and Limitations — DPDK 2.1.0-rc0 documentation ,specially issue # 6.13 that is related to Fedora 14.

You must also comply with the requirements of section 2.2 Compilation of the DPDK. and section 2.3.1. System Software. of thehttp://dpdk.readthedocs.org/en/latest/linux_gsg/index.html DPDK Getting Started Guide

So if you intend to use Fedora 14, you must upgrade you kernel, and make sure that your system support the appropriate versions of the required tools. Using older versions of libraries might result in failure.

Bear in mind that some tools might not be available for Fedora 14, so you will need to back-port them.
