updating embedded drivers Windows 11 Pro

I'm no computer whiz...just trying to use my laptop.

Just discovered it has an embedded processor, so that explains why I can't update the drivers, which I was trying to do so that my F1-F6 keys on the keyboard would work.

How can I get those keys to work?

Hello @Computeridiot,

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

Don't worry, I think if you are using a laptop, there is a Fn button that changes the behavior of these buttons, for example to increase or decrease the volume or the brightness. Also, if is possible, you can try to connect an external keyboard to verify if there is something in the configuration that is causing this or if there is a damage in the keyboard.

If your F1-F6 keys aren't working, it's likely due to the function key (Fn) being enabled or disabled, or a setting in BIOS or your keyboard's software. You can try toggling the Fn key by pressing Fn + Esc.

To update the drivers, you can do it with the Driver & Support Assistance:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

If the issue persist, it may be best to contact the place where you have purchased your computer to get better assistance.

Best regards,

Thanks Diego.  The buttons work now!!

Unfortunately, the link you sent to update the drivers only works if they are NOT embedded.

But...at least I can use my computer now without being vexed all the time when ads start playing!

Cheers, man!
