You can check this register, as there is a lock that should be disable for the NMI.

"5.8.19 Pad Configuration Lock (PADCFGLOCKTX_GPP_E_0)—Offset 74h"

Also, these registers are part of the Group E GPIO that are part of the "5.8.16 GPIO Community 1 Registers Summary"
