Hi all,
I have trouble with a 82574 Ethernet Controller when setting a fix speed and duplex mode.
The controller supports Auto-MDIX for all speeds, but if I disable AutoNeg and set tthe speed fix to 100 MBit/s,
the driver also sets fix MDI, so the link only works with a crossover cable, which is not an option.
I tried all available drivers from Intel, currently installed is 12.7.28.0.
Is there a way to enable the Auto-MDIX for all speeds?
Thanks for help

Hi g_leonhardt,
Thank you for contacting Intel.
I'll check this issue. In the meantime, please provide your system details:
1. Operating System:
2. Motherboard Model:
3. When you set the speed at 100 mbps, did you also set the same for the device on the other end?
4. What device was it connected to?
I'll wait for your reply.
Sincerely,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
1. Operating System:
Windows Embedded Standard Service Pack 1, 32 Bit
2. Motherboard Model:
Self developed motherboard with an Intel Atom CPU D2550, 1,86 GHz, 4GB RAM
3. When you set the speed at 100 mbps, did you also set the same for the device on the other end?
All settings applied to both ends of connection
4. What device was it connected to?
The connectcion is between two 82574L.
I read out the state of the "Copper Specific Control Register 1", Bits 6:5, MDI Crossover Mode.
These bits are 11b (Auto-MDIX) if AutoNeg is set, 00b (Manual MDI) if 100 MBit/s is set.
regards,
Guenter
