Hi Intel Team,
I am using the Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXVDA4 NIC card with 4x10G Ethernet ports.
Current behavior:
- When I receive and record a single 10G channel, I achieve around 1200 MB/s, which is expected and close to line rate.
- However, when I simultaneously use two 10G channels for receiving and recording, the total throughput reaches only around 1600 MB/s.
Expected behavior:
- Since I am using dual 10G links simultaneously, I expect combined throughput close to 2400–2500 MB/s total.
Environment:
- CentOS 9 Linux
- High-speed Ethernet data receiving and recording
- NVMe SSD storage
- Multi-threaded application
Please suggest:
- Whether this limitation could be related to PCIe bandwidth, NUMA configuration, CPU bottleneck, RSS/queue configuration, memory bandwidth, or driver limitations.
- Recommended driver settings and performance tuning for achieving full dual-port 10G receive throughput.
- Best practices for queue/core mapping and RSS configuration with the E810-XXVDA4.
Thanks.

Hello Abdul123,
Greetings!!
To address the output speed concerns with your Intel Ethernet Network Adapter, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
- Update the adapter firmware to the latest available version.
- Update the Linux drivers to the most recent release.
- Refer to the “Optimizing Performance” section (page 41) in the Intel Ethernet Adapters User Guide and apply the recommended settings. (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19373/adapter-user-guide-for-intel-ethernet-adapters.html?wapkw=adapter%20user%20guide)
- Follow the guidelines outlined in the Linux performance tuning document to further optimize performance.
For your reference, we have also shared a document that provides detailed information on advanced settings and Receive Side Scaling (RSS) for Intel® Network Adapters. These configurations can help improve performance consistency and throughput.
