The network card I use is E810-XXVDA4T
Interface and driver information:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oai@oai:~$ lspci | grep -i ethernet
8a:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller E810-C for SFP (rev 02)
8a:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller E810-C for SFP (rev 02)
8a:00.2 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller E810-C for SFP (rev 02)
8a:00.3 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller E810-C for SFP (rev 02)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oai@oai:~$ sudo ethtool -i ens1f0np0
driver: ice
version: 6.8.0-52-generic
firmware-version: 4.70 0x8001f7b3 1.3755.0
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: 0000:8a:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: yes
supports-eeprom-access: yes
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: yes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The current situation is that I installed O-DU on the server and want to interface with the physical RU, but when performing PTP time synchronization (ptp4l, phc2sys), I found that there was a high delay problem (delay=500). Therefore, I connected a GPS antenna to the GNSS/SMB port, but my ptp4l only showed that the local clock was used (no GPS information was detected).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oai@oai:~$ cat /etc/ptp4l.conf
[global]
domainNumber 24
slaveOnly 0
verbose 1
time_stamping hardware
tx_timestamp_timeout 500
logging_level 6
summary_interval 1
priority1 128
priority2 128
#[eno1]
[ens1f0np0]
#network_transport L2
#hybrid_e2e 0
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have used timedatectl (but System clock synchronized: no) and cgps -s (the information shows n/a), but no GPS signal was found.
Therefore, I would like to ask how to see the GPS signal and reduce the delay of PTP.

Hello WuYiLong
Thank you for posting in the Intel Ethernet community.
We hope you're doing well. Since ptp4l only detects the local clock and not the GPS signal on the E810-XXVDA4T network card, please refer to the E810-XXVDA4T User Guide at the link below:
