I use two cards EXPI9404PTL (Intel PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Server Adapter LP).
Both of them are working fine with HP DL380 G7 server, however when I move them to Cisco UCS C210 M2 one of them doesn't work in any of the slots.
Both HP and Cisco have only PCIe 2.0 slots.
The OS is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5.
I noticed that there are slight differences between the boards of the cards (different chip id's, etc). Are there different versions of this card?
What may be the reason?

If one adapter works in your server and the other does not, you should http://www.intel.com/support/feedback.htm?group=network contact Intel Customer Support about the issue. Customer support will review the troubleshooting with you. If customer support determines you have a defective adapter, then you will be eligible to have the adapter replaced under the http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-009721.htm limited lifetime hardware warranty.
