Errors while running Ethernet Port Configuration Tool on ESXi 8.0 U2

Hello. I'm attempting to run the EPCT on ESXi 8.x. I've downloaded 1.40.5.5 and followed the instructions to install using the following command:

esxcli software vib install -d <path/package_file>.zip

Further instructions for running / accessing the tool are not specifically given for ESXi.

My second attempt followed a post on this forum. I tried uploading the tool to my ESXi datastore and running the standalone application (as in 'sh ./epctn64e') This fails with syntax errors, and I've downloaded previous versions to see if I am hitting some sort of bug. I have attached a screenshot of these failures. 

How do instantiate / access the tool after following the ESXi installation instructions in the README?
