Intel® PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Server Adapter
We have an old Fujitsu Primergy TX140 S2 Tower Server Quad-Core that we are using in our charity school.
We are facing some interruption on the network. We noticed the issue is from the built-in NIC.
Due to limited budget we are looking for a cheap option.
I found Quad port server adapter on eBay for around 23 pound but I am not sure if it is compaitble with my server Fujitsu Primergy TX140 S2 Tower Server Quad-Core

@Srri Why all of this support on a long discontinued (17 year old) product for a discontinued server, when ICS does not help customers with products that are 3 years old?
It is time to close this issue and move on.

Wouldn't Fujitsu be the best source on compatibility with their server? There is no way that question can be answered here.
You need to check hardware compatibility, OS compatibility, and if a driver is available for your OS.
This card is from 2006 and has long been discontinued.
Any drivers that may work can be found here:

Thanks you for your swift response.
Unfortunately, we have a tight budget for this year and the built-in NIC are stopped working from time to time.
I am looking for DUAL or Quad NIC worth less than $50.
We are a charity school and main funds come from donation.
Is it possible to contact intel to get a refurbished or used NIC please?

Determining compatibility with Fujitsu servers is best done by contacting Fujitsu directly. It is not possible to provide a definitive answer here. However, you can take these steps to assess compatibility:
- Check hardware and OS compatibility.
- Look for available drivers on the Intel website.
- Consult Fujitsu or refer to their documentation for accurate information.
Note: The responder is not an Intel employee. Regarding Windows 12, its impact on compatibility is unknown at this time.

Hi Samer,
Good day and thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.
Understood that you are having an issue with receiving the Ethernet NIC.
Can please check and let us know what OS that you are running.
If you are using OS lower than Windows 10, we recommend to upgrade to Windows 10 and above. Kindly check the the hardware compatibility, OS compatibility, and the suitable driver for your OS.
Kindly let us know if you have any other inquiries.
Best regards,
Srri,

Unfortunately the issue is not fixed because I did not receive a confirmation if this NIC is compatible with my server.
I can not take the risk.
I hope we can communicate with Intel technical team over the phone.

Again, there is no way this can be answered here. The best answer is "it should work", or "give it a try".
You are talking about something that costs almost nothing. Buy it, try it, and if it does not work, return it for a refund, and stop this futile search for an absolute answer of compatibility with an old, unsupported server. You are just wasting time when you could have solved the problem already. And, speaking with the technical team is not going to happen, so you can abandon that idea right now.

Wasting money is exactly what you have done by dragging this issue out this long. Your time, and the time of the Intel support folks, is worth more than the 20 pounds the adapter costs. And, if you purchase from a reputable seller, I am certain you can return the adapter for a refund.
And, I understand limited budgets, but trying to keep old gear operational costs more than upgrades and replacements. There are many sources that will confirm that. So, your efforts in keeping this old gear alive is actually costing you and your organization more in the long run.
Sorry, but it is time to move on.

Good day Srinivasa,
As we mentioned that the card is from 2006 and has long been discontinued.
You can download the complete driver package for Intel PRO/1000PT Dual Port Server Adapter at below link for the latest driver package if you already purchased the card.
Regarding the compatibility you may need to check for Fujitsu servers is best done by contacting Fujitsu directly.
If you have any further questions or queries, please kindly let us know.
Thank You
